We will provide you with an introductory and ongoing education regarding Congress and the Federal Government, custom tailored to your needs.

 

  • We will equip you with an understanding of how Congress works and how Members of Congress work for their constituents, the structure of Congress (committees, leadership, etc.), what is the interaction between Congress and the President and his/her agencies, how a bill becomes a law, what regulations are and how the regulatory process works, we will define terms for you: policy, advocacy, lobbying, among other relevant topics.

  • We will help you get to know members of your local, state, and federal elected delegation – who they are, what issues are important to them, how you can work with them.

  • We will assist you, your members, and your staff in understanding what it means to engage in government affairs work and the internal capacity and tools needed to be successful.

  • We will monitor and report legislative activities relevant to your interests.

Ready to Advocate

Walk the Halls Of Congress With Confidence                                              

 

All services in “The Inside Scoop” package plus the following:

 

  • We will provide a weekly legislative update detailing the issues of relevance being debated by Congress and policies being implemented by the President’s executive agencies.

  • We will work with your group to craft a (or edit an existing) strategic plan to achieve your government affairs goals and objectives. This may include but is not limited to:

     

    • Identifying the current legislative and regulatory issues impacting you.

    • Helping you identify the Members of Congress that are of importance to you and your issues and understanding each Members potential role based on their positions within the government.

    • Helping you to build a strategy that will coalesce your grassroots and use their collective energy to move your issues forward.

       

  • We will give you all the necessary tools and technical assistance to launch your advocacy campaign.

    • We will work with your organization and staff to create grassroots action alerts and background papers for your advocacy campaign.

    • We will help you develop and maintain advocacy content for your website and assist with the development of any other communications material related to the campaign.

    • We will assess your organizational readiness to begin advocating before Congress and will make recommendations related to additional training.

    • We will provide ongoing technical assistance on how to effectively sell your message on Capitol Hill.

 

  • We will provide advocacy training as needed for your members and technical assistance to enhance advocacy capacity – training will include step-by-step instructions on how to contact your Member of Congress, how to schedule an appointment, how to conduct your meeting, and what to do as follow-up to your meeting.

    • We will present trainings at your annual conference or scheduled gathering for your members.

    • We will provide training materials including sample emails requesting a meeting, sample scripts for meetings, role-play activities, etc.

    • We will provide on-going training webinars and/or calls to educate new members or to serve as a refresher for existing members.

  • We will attend meetings with you, or on your behalf, to help you establish and strengthen your working relationships with relevant elected officials, legislative staff and administrative agency staff to advance your policy goals.

  • We will coordinate and attend meetings with similarly situated DC based partner organizations and coalitions advocating for legislative and policy change to advance common goals.

  • We will prepare and submit written testimony for committee hearings, and other official materials to relevant policy makers.

  • We will work with your communications and marketing teams to advance your advocacy and policy campaigns.

  • We will organize and stage advocacy events such as congressional briefings, receptions, and “Hill days” (a designated day when all your advocates convene on Capitol Hill for scheduled meetings with their representatives with defined and uniform talking points).

  • We will create and disseminate educational materials to policy makers and do any necessary follow-up communication, including meetings, on your behalf.
